The Tempest By Kate

Narrator-Prospero the wizard has just made a terrible storm (a tempest). His slave, a monster called Caliban, walks slowly over to him.
Prospero-Caliban! You brought no wood or water to the cave this morning. Do I have to send the spirits to torment you again?
Caliban-I am not your servant. My mother, the great witch Sycorax, promised that I would rule this island, and so I would have-if you had not come here, and stolen her books of magic, and freed her slave spirits to help you get rid of her.
Prospero-Silence!
Caliban-Mercy master, mercy.
He hid a cunning smile.
Caliban-Why are you so cruel? You were kind to me once.
